Ben, Olivia, and Jason recently took part in the Kids Cancer Alliance Benefit in Louisville, KY alongside Jake Owen, Jana Kramer, and Josh Osborne.
This past weekend was for sure a story for the grandkids. My first.gig.ever (well…out of Nashville anyways) and it was a perfect night in Louisville. I played all NEW material (which I’m so excited for y’all to hear soon) and I got to play with some incredible people: Jake Owen, Jana Kramer, Josh Osborne, Bed Bradford, Jason Sturgeon and the musician mad man Ilya Toshinskiy, who made us each sound like we were rockstars. This show was special though because unlike a full band show we sat “in the round” which means we all rotated and got to play our songs acoustically, so the pressure was on for my guitar playing to be stellar for all my new material. Alas…the audience was awesome, my fingers did what my brain told them to do and we all celebrated after! AND we raised $203,000 net for Kids Cancer Alliance!!! I’m thrilled that I was part of something so cool and to also, more importantly, give back. Here’s to a wonderful start to 2014!!!!

Taking part in the Kids Cancer Alliance Benefit was an amazing experience. It was a blessing to be part of such a great cause and raise over $200,000 for the kids. Hearing the stories of survival and perseverance from these kids truly touches your heart and I am very grateful to have been able to share the stage with other artists and songwriters in efforts to support this wonderful organization.
